Houston City Council approved agreement with Clear Channel Outdoor that will result in removal of 831 billboards in the City limits with NO billboard relocations into our area. Yesterday, [April 16, 2008] Houston City Council voted unanimously, with no discussion, to approve an agreement with Clear Channel Outdoor that will result in the removal of over 800 billboards across Houston!

R1960 has contracted with one of the leading urban planners in Houston to help our area recognize its true potential and develop plans to achieve all we can be. To be part of planning the future attend one of two public meetings.

1.   The community with its planning consultants will develop a strategic master plan that will serve as the guiding principles for the corridor’s community improvements benefiting the area’s overall quality of life.  

2.   The primary focus of the plan is to: improve the quality of life and amenities for all who live and work in the area; achieve a more secure, livable environment where the residents can raise families in peaceful, aesthetically attractive neighborhoods; preserve an area where businesses can prosper; and where schools and institutions can better serve the entire community.

What can you do? Share this notice and be sure others come. Tell a friend and be sure they know how important their input is to the future.
