What does the future hold for the FM 1960 area of north Harris County, Texas? This is the web site of an organization that wants to help answer that question. The Renaissance 1960 Improvement Corporation, is commonly called "Renaissance 1960" is a group of businesses and residents that are willing to work for improvements. We do not have all the answers but we are working on the issues our community is facing and will not leave our future up to someone else. An important goal is to create the sense of one community as a collection of the smaller areas that now function independantly. All those groups enjoy similar advantages and challenges. Together we can more fully promote the advantages and address the challenges to the extent possilble by a volunteer group. We hope you will spend a few minutes scanning our pages, find that we are serious about making a difference and choose to join us. There are no fees, no gimmicks and no spin. We must stand up and be part of the solution. We should not expect someone to do it for us because we are "entitled". We have a good quality of life and we want to make it better. If all of us are not involved then fate will decide how we live, how our business and residential areas look and open our doors to crime and decay that inevitably creeps in to all urban areas unless someone cares. Why do we need you? Because we are volunteers and there is no part of government to provide the type of improvements our area deserves. We also need you to support a loud voice to the State, County and City officials that our area needs more police presence, more enforcement of existing legislation, ordinances, regulations and policies by their police and courts. We have to speak up for ourselves and begin working on the area's amenities that the current government cannnot provide. Those that live in the area should decide what it will be through our actions and not our lack of action. If you cannot join our meetings you can make a very important contribution by telling a friend or send them the link to this web site. Promotion is something we all have time to do. If you know someone or a company or organization that believes in the area and can provide financial support please refer them here. Look at the list of sponsors who have provided support and note the list includes large and small businesses and even a neighborhood association. That list is growing and your contact will not want to be left out. Notice in our sponsorship plan that the range is from large sums to those for individuals with limited income. The Renaissance 1960 Improvement Corporation--commonly known as "Renaissance 1960"--is a non-profit corporation registered in the State of Texas. We have applied for 501(c)(3) status. |
