What will this District do that the other community organizations cannot do? |

As the District will be a unit of government it can enter into “interlocal agreements” with other agencies. An interlocal agreement is the preferred contractual tool that agencies and other bodies of government use to create partnerships. An interlocal agreement cannot be between an agency and a community organization or other private entity. Those partnerships are typically where a public improvement project is planned and one agency wants to fund extra features to the contracting agency's project. Typical features are landscaping, special street lights, and special wayfinding signage. Often management districts fund the planning and/or design of an improvement to “get the ball rolling”. In today’s public arena a local area is much more likely to get an improvement if they have a vehicle to bring money or services to assist the County, City, TxDOT, HCFCD, H-GAC and others. This will be one of the most productive roles of a district.
