Proposed Business Development Program

  • Project:  Develop and implement Business Development Program
  • Purpose:  The Business Development Program will be part of the Service Plan and create a Business plan that defines actions the District will take to provide support to property owners to maintain as close to 100% occupancy as possible. The materials and media produced will include a portion of a web site, monthly email promotional materials, an area map and brochures. Included will be presentations to potential property owners and tenants by the Executive Director and later, if approved, by the Board a Director of Business Development.
  • Value:  A potential property owner and tenant will value that there is a public agency with only this area to serve and that can use that public status to better access other agencies on their behalf.
  • Location:  Within the proposed district
  • Potential Partner: Area developers, brokers and property managers
  • Cost:  The development of the plan will be by District Staff in conjunction with volunteers from area businesses and input from the District’s Board of Directors.
  • Why do we need a Business Plan?
    • To be successful every business must have a business plan, implement that plan and change it as the market evolves. Our area does not have a business plan.
    • Renaissance 1960 acknowledges that other dedicated, admirable organizations in the area have components of their business plans that address the area’s needs but they also must address maintenance of membership, funding and other issues in the mission. Those additional business needs can be distracting. Our area deserves a plan and someone to pursue it.
  • Implementation:  Proposed as a first year project
