Draft Business Development/Promotion Objective/Action Items Objective: As the cost of fuel continues to climb we have an opportunity to attract quality business to the area. We will encourage both re-development and new development of quality commercial office and retail space to complement the attractiveness of our many well maintained subdivisions, providing a quality live, work and play environment.
Short Range Actions: - Assemble a task force to address business development, marketing and public relations issues specific to this area.
- Commission a market analysis and economic redevelopment study.
- Partner with existing local organizations such as Chambers of Commerce whose focus is on business development and promotion of the area.
- Facilitate the creation of an identity for the area.
- Facilitate the creation and implementation of promotional, marketing and communications tools that promote the area.
- Serve as an ongoing source of information though website, newsletters and email communications.
- Continue the work of Renaissance 1960 in partnering with the school districts to provide educational opportunities to students through their participation in community improvement programs.
Long Range Actions: - Analyze and implement recommendations of the market and economic development study.
- Develop relationships with quality developers and encourage development in the area through grants and assistance with other agencies.
