Everywhere in Houston and our great country the free enterprise system thrives on advertisement. For years before mass media there were signs to lure propective buyers or future clients and now there are many more signs. We now find our roadways lined with signage from bill boards to bandit signs, some flashing and some blown up gorrillas swaying in the breeze over the hopefull business. Renaissance 1960 believes that the existing legislation as approved by Harris County, The City of Houston and the State of Texas must be enforced to properly manage signage and curb sign blight. To that end the page provides links to those rules, ordinances and regulations. Click " Read More" below for links and info about the bandit sign legislation that goes into effect 9/1/07.
Not all rules are applicable in all locations. That is part of the challenge we in the community must face but we must become knowledgable about those rules, assist the various agencies in the application of those rules and insist the rules be fairly and thoroughly administered. Click here to go to the Harris County site with the "ETJ Sign Regulations". Below are links to the currently available pages at the States web site regarding Bandit Sign regulations approved in the 2007 Legislative session. These go into effect on September 1, 2007. Once we have the final legislation it will be posted. For HB-412 click here. For HB-413 click here. We will soon include links to the City of Houston's sign regulations. |
